Made In New Zealand by Lanaco  Auckland. The HELIX Filter is made of unique New Zealand grown wool from the Astino(tm) sheep inWanaka New Zealand.

The Helix(tm) Filter is the key to the Waire(tm) mask’s effectiveness. The result of years of research, it utilizes the protective qualities of wool from bred-for-purpose sheep “Astino(tm)” in Wanaka, New Zealand.

The Astino(tm)  wool has proven to outperform synthetic materials, making it perfect for face mask filters.

The HELIX(tm) Filter system  is the world’s most breathable, allowing the wearer to receive a steady stream of purified air as it takes less energy to draw air through the filter.

CDC recommends using a Face Mask when in public.

The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention recommends we cover our faces with a mask when we are in public. An increasing number of countries are now recommending the general population wear masks in public and in places where social distancing is compromised. Due to the shortage of N95 and Surgical masks, this often means using a homemade mask. The effectiveness of homemade masks varies depending on the fabric used, the style and the fit

Important note – always wash your hands before you touch the filters. Dispose of them once used immediately, and then wash your hands again.

Our mask is not intended to replace surgical face masks and it is not PPE certified. The wool filter inserts are tested in house by our Supplier but as a whole it has not been tested.   Inserts do not meet N95 standards but are designed to give 80% filtration of 0.3micron size at normal breathing rates.

This is not an N95 mask. N95 refers to a safety standard for industrial use. These are also becoming available, but are typically more expensive, very uncomfortable for prolonged use and unsuitable for people with breathing difficulties, under exertion, or for children (N95 is an INDUSTRIAL standard for adults in the workplace).

Wearing a face mask certainly does not guarantee that you won’t get sick – viruses can also transmit through the eyes and tiny viral particles, known as aerosols and aerosols can penetrate masks in a variety of ways.

Basic hygiene measures are the most important way to stop the spread of infections, including the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Basic hygiene measures include:

• hand hygiene – that is, washing hands regularly with soap and water, or cleansing with hand sanitiser
• staying at home if you are sick
• coughing or sneezing into a tissue or your elbow and then performing hand hygiene
• cleaning surfaces regularly.

Please note, for hygiene reason these filters will need to come in their original plastic packaging as this is how we get them from our supplier.

 

FACE MASK CARE GUIDE:

TAKING CARE OF YOUR MASK:

Do not wash, spray or immerse your mask/filter with any liquids (natural breathing humidity is fine). DO NOT Tumble dry.

Store below 30 degrees celsius in a dry place. Keep separately in a sealed bag.

CLEANING YOUR MASK:

Wipe your mask with a dry or damp cloth BUT DO NOT SOAK.

Use an alcohol-based sanitizer or spray on a tissue & wipe the outer fabric only.

Things to note :

This mask is not certificed for clinical use;

Wearing the mask cannot fully remove the risk of infection or contracting a disease.

Change your mask regularly for good personal hygiene

Stop using the mask immediately if breathing becomes difficult. If you are having difficulty breathing consult your healthcare professional’

The wool-filter contains processed wool-fibres. Avoid direct contact with your skin if you are allergic to wool-fibres.

This is disposable mask. The Filter canot be replaced.

Filter life primarily depends on air conditions, daily users usage(hrs) and rate of breathing, The Filter is at the end of its life when it is noticeably harder to breathe through.
